I am extremely happy to present the calendar of events to you for
the year 2008.
This
is the 25th year since we started our work in the year 1982, though
the institute was registered officially in the year 1984. We have
conducted 32 seminars during this period, and hundreds of scholars
within and outside India have
contributed in these seminars.
We
have been conducting study tours to many culturally important places
in India, which are not usually included in the routine travel itinerary.
For the last five years we have been conducting teachers exchange
programme with UK in collaboration with League for the Exchange
of Commonwealth Teachers(LECT) and Commonwealth Association of Science
Technology and Mathematics Educators(CASTME), Asia Branch, and more
than 100 teachers have participated in this programme.
In
the year 2005, we started Indian students’ visits to Oxford,
Cambridge and London, and about 30 students have taken advantage
of this scheme. Details of these programmes are available on our

We
also conduct many lectures, exhibitions and workshops to promote
this activity.
We added 5,000 volumes to our library last year. We now have about
30,000 books, many of which are rare and about 4,000 Sanskrit and
Prakrit manuscripts. In the year 2005 Institute was given the recognition
as Manuscript Resource Centre (MRC) by National Mission for Manuscripts,
New Delhi.
