A HUMAN TRAGEDY CALLED `GYPSIES'

   It is now believed that the Gypsies were first seen  in the l0th century in Europe. But only in l8th century it became known to the people and the scholars that they came from India. Till then their origin and history remained mistery to all.

   Although many foreign scholars have done lot of  work of research on this subject, the Indian scholars have shown ; complete disregard to this subject. However, there are some exceptions to this.

   There is complete ignorance amongst the educated people that there exists a large group of people who call themselves to be from India and they are proud to be of Indian origin. In their National Anthem they sing of their land and big family. Their Gods have the same names as Hindus of this land. Their language still has the majority words from Punjabi and Hindi. Their rituals and customs are like those followed by the people of this country. They follow various professions as followed in this country.

   There are some three million of them spread in all the European countries and they have been living there for the last ten centuries; yet they are stateless and no country is ready to accept them as their nationals.
