SOME REFLECTIONS OF DIETARY HABITS IN THE "ASTADHYAVI", "MAHABHASYA"AND "KASIKA"

The sanskrit grammarians throw light on a great deal of cultural aspects while explaining the rules of the language. "Panini", " Patanjali" and "Jayaditya-Vamana" witness three different periods of the ancient Indian history.

This paper aims to bring out the evolution of the dietary habits of the people of ancient India as reflected in these texts.
